A fundraiser aimed at improving the life of a 7-year-old severely disabled Hailsham boy has reached more than £10,000.
Tiger has multiple disabilities, cerebral palsy, global development delay, epilepsy and dystonia and the community has been coming together to raise money to make major improvements to his home to assist in his daily care.
Tiger suffers from dystonia, tight muscles that cause painful spasms that have been unsuccessfully treated with botox and splints. He takes medication for this along with different medications for epilepsy, drooling, & pain.
Tiger and his parents live in a house that is unsuitable for him to be able to enjoy a near to normal life. The family have converted their living room to Tiger’s bedroom and they struggle to get him in the bath, which is his favourite activity.
Funds from the local authority would enable a basic bedroom and wet room to be added to the back of the house. But, the family says it doesn’t go as far as to enable Tiger to integrate with the family.
The funds raised will be used to increase the size of the kitchen, a room for activities to stimulate his sensory needs and room for a tracking hoist throughout the ground floor. There will also be an access ramp outside, widened doorways and suitable flooring for his wheelchair.
A GoFundMe page has been set up with a target of £40,000 and generous locals have already raised a staggering £10,200. You can see the page and donate here.
