A woman died and two other people suffered critical injuries in a collision on the A27 at Polegate on Thursday morning (June 4).
Emergency services were called to the scene near to the entrance of Folkington Manor at 5.24am where a Ford Ka had been in collision with a Ford Transit van.
Sadly, a 22-year-old woman from Bexhill, a passenger in the Ka, died at the scene.
The driver of the Ka, a 27-year-old man from Hastings, and the driver of the Transit, a 54-year-old man from Polegate, were taken to hospital with what are described as critical injuries.
The road was closed for rescue, recovery and collision investigation work to take place, with police handing over to Highways for some road repairs to take place shortly after 11.30am.
