Emergency crews were called to South Road this evening after a car destroyed the railings on the bridge over the Cuckoo Line.
The accident happened around 7pm when the Ford Fiesta, travelling south on North Street hit the railings.
Police and Ambulance crews tackled to free the vehicle which has left the metal railings unrepairable.
The drivers and three passengers were checked over by Paramedics, but no one was taken to hospital for any injuries.
