FOUR pubs in Bexhill have confirmed they will be opening their doors early to show the women’s FIFA World Cup Final between England and Spain on Sunday.
The match at Stadium Australia kicks off at 11am UK time with hundreds of thousands of fans ready to cheer England on from home… but if they prefer, there is also the option of nipping down the pub for a pint and a bit to eat.
Wetherspoons in Western Road says it will be open for business “as usual” and there will be a big screen for everyone to enjoy the match while having a drink and food, although they are expecting it to be very busy.
The Townhouse in London Road also confirmed it will be showing the match and is expecting a full house.
A staff member confirmed that they would be serving “Bexhill’s best bacon butties” from 10.30am in the build-up to the match with alcohol available from noon.
Milligans in Wilton Road says it will also be showing the match and again a staff member added it was expected to be busy as fans prepare to cheers the Lionesses on.
The Sovereign, In Sea Road, which recently reopened, will be showing the match too and is opening early to accommodate as many supporters as possible. Staff are also planning to lay on bar snacks at half-time.
In Sidley. The Rose & Crown, The New Inn and Sidley Working Mens Club are all apparently showing the game.
We’ve tried to include as many pubs as possible in this article, but some may be missed due to unanswered phone calls today. If you are the owner of an establishment showing the football, please email us at editor@bexhill.news.
