PROJECTS enhancing the lives of residents could benefit from a share of £25,000 as the county council joins forces with Crowdfunder.
Organisations across the county are invited to apply to the Crowdfund East Sussex campaign, which will match fund public donations from the county council’s Community Wellbeing Fund up to a total of £25,000.
Up to 10 projects will be chosen to receive a share of the match funding.
The five-week fundraising campaign will see public donations doubled pound for pound, up to a maximum of £2,500 per project.
Projects that promote cultural vitality, economic prosperity, social equity, and environmental sustainability across East Sussex are encouraged to apply.
Darrell Gale, Director of Public Health in East Sussex, said: “Crowdfund East Sussex is a great way for local projects to get the funding they need to get started, as well as helping organisations raise awareness about their causes and develop connections across their communities.
“The ‘Donations Doubled’ initiative is a fantastic way for organisations to reach their fundraising targets and I would encourage any local project which thinks they might fit the campaign criteria to apply.”
Projects which benefited last year from the county council’s joint initiative with Crowdfunder included a scheme providing beds for children in need across the county, a wood recycling project in Rother that uses wood waste for community projects, and a Hastings based weekly black tie cabaret for older people to combat isolation and loneliness.
Applications for Crowdfund East Sussex 2024 opened on Monday, April 29 and must be received by midnight on Thursday, May 23.
The fundraising campaign will start on Monday, May 27, 2024.
