RESIDENTS have been experiencing delays when accessing water stations set up by Southern Water.
Since Thursday (May 2), people in St Leonards, Hastings and parts of Westfield have been without water due to a burst water main.
To meet the demand, Southern Water has opened a fourth water station at Hastings Academy in Rye Road, Hastings, TN35 5DN.
The other stations are located in:
- Asda in St Leonards, TN37 7AA
- Tesco in Church Wood Drive, St Leonards, Hastings, St Leonards-on-Sea, TN38 9RB
- Sea Road, Hastings, TN38 OAG
However, drivers delivering water to bottle stations are stuck in traffic.
Southern Water issued the following statement: “We’re sorry if you’ve found it difficult to access our water stations due to traffic, and that there are delays.
“Our drivers are stuck in the same traffic but are on their way. Hastings Academy and Sea Road are serving customers more quickly, while Tesco and Asda are restocked.”
The company said this morning (May 4) they identified, removed and replaced the broken pipe overnight, but residents will still have no water throughout the weekend.
At about 11am this morning (May 4), Southern Water updated its Facebook page: “We’re sorry for the continued impact and disruption our customers are having in St Leonards, Hastings and rural areas around Westfield.
