A22 bypass van fire being treated as deliberate

Fire crews were called to a vehicle fire last night (Tuesday) on the A22 between Hailsham and Polegate.

Breathing apparatus were used to extinguish the van fire which is now being treated as deliberate, according to East Sussex Fire and Rescue.

It happened in a layby situated between the Cophall and Eagles roundabouts on the Hailsham bypass around 10:20pm.

The incident is now being investigated.
