Aldi wants to build new store next to development at Polegate

Date:

RESIDENTS are being urged to have their say about plans for a new Aldi store on land at Polegate.

A consultation event, taking place on Tuesday, 25th February, is highlighting the company’s vision for the site off Eastbourne Road (A2270).

It says it will be investing £5m into the development and will create up to 40 new full-time jobs for the area. There will also be a car park with 118 spaces, including electric car charging bays.

The site falls close to the development which will eventually see 700 homes built, next to the busy A2270.

A spokesperson for the company said: “Aldi is keen to consult with the community ahead of submission so that we can hear your views first-hand, and take those into account as we finalise our proposals.

“We will report the outcome of this consultation in a Statement of Community Involvement submitted with the planning application and encourage you to participate and provide your thoughts.

The consultation will be open to members of the public at St. George’s Church Hall in Polegate on Monday 24th February between 3pm and 7pm.
