Battle of Britain heroes remembered in Hailsham service

Date:

THE heroes of the Battle of Britain have been remembered at a special service at the Hailsham War Memorial yesterday, marking the 80th anniversary of the aerial campaign.

The socially distanced service marked exactly 80 years since Britain’s Prime Minister Winston Churchill praised the Royal Air Force for its successful battle against the Luftwaffe, saying: “Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few.”

In attendance was the Mayor of Hailsham, Councillor Paul Holbrook, war veterans and members of the Town Council and Hailsham Parish Church.
