GMB Union members began their two weeks of strike action by protesting outside the Amberstone plant this morning (Monday).
Passing supporters sounded their horns when around 30 workers stood outside their workplace with flags and banners after the union refused a new pay offer from Biffa last week.
Wealden District Council says residents must continue to put out their bins on their normal collection days, in the hope they will be collected by the small number of workers who continue with their duties.
An update from Wealden this morning (Monday) suggested bin collections in Hailsham were taking place, but recycling collections were not happening.
