A PERSON has been charged with assisting unlawful entry into the UK after authorities found six migrants inside a lorry on a boat at Newhaven Port.
Border Force, Sussex Police, Southeast Coast Ambulance (Secamb) and Air Ambulance attended to Newhaven Port yesterday (February 16).
Six people were taken to hospital, there are no updates on their condition thus far.
Another man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of illegal entry into the UK.
A Home Office spokesman said in a statement to the BBC: “Border Force, Immigration Enforcement and emergency services continue to investigate an incident in Newhaven on Friday.
“An individual has been charged with assisting unlawful entry into the UK.
“While the investigation is ongoing, it would be inappropriate to comment further.”
