A team of contractors have become heroes after saving passengers from a bus fire in the High Street this morning (Friday).
Fire crews also attended the incident which happened around 9am, when a Cuckmere Community Bus caught fire with passengers on-board.
The contractors, from AGS, who were working on a nearby premises, kicked into action and evacuated the passengers and extinguished the fire themselves.
An onlooker told Hailsham News: “The bus pulled up with smoke billowing from the engine. AGS are currently working on an exciting project in Hailsham High Street. They saw the incident unfold. Everyone was safe and well and the fire extinguished.”
