Shoppers and children in fancy dress are encouraged to get involved in the town’s Christmas activities this Saturday.
Both the Street and Farmers Markets will be holding festivities on Saturday between 9am and 3pm and will host music, stalls, competitions and a special visit from Father Christmas.
The town centre event will feature live music in Vicarage Field provided by The Sussex Stompers and The Chandeliers, plus Santa (provided by Hailsham Rotary Club) will be handing out free sweets to children and Hailsham FM will be playing popular Christmas tunes throughout the day. Mulled wine and mulled cider with other goods will also be on sale.
The Christmas Market will coincide with Hailsham Farmers’ Market, which will hold a special Christmas event at the Cattle Market site in Market Street, selling locally sourced food and crafts.
Children in Christmas fancy dress are being invited to join in with the parade which leaves Vicarage Field at 11:30am which will head towards the Famers Market ahead of the judging at midday.
There will also be festive entertainment on-site, a Dame Dora Panto and ‘Best Dressed Elf’ and ‘Best Dressed Dog’ competitions on the day.
The Treasure Pots Mini Christmas Market is also being held at the Charles Hunt Centre from 10-2pm with crafts, clothing and gifts with free entry.
Hailsham Parish Church will be hosting Wealden Brass Band’s Christmas Concert at 2.30pm on the day (free entry).
