Coastguard helicopter lands to rescue injured person in Eastbourne

EMERGENCY services responded to an incident at Shinewater Park this evening (Friday) where a man with an injured leg was rescued.

Fire, Ambulance and Police were called to the scene where a rescue had to take place from the main road.

Golden Jubilee Way was closed to traffic whilst the rescue took place.

The Coastguard helicopter landed on the main road to assist crews with the rescue of the man, who injured his leg in the incident, and was airlifted to hospital.

A rescue ladder was seen being used from Golden Jubilee Way, which runs alongside the park, during the incident.
