Comedians raise vital funds to help Parkinson’s Support Group in Lewes continue services

Date:

A TEAM of comedians ran a successful charity night to raise important funds to help Parkinson’s Support Group in Lewes continue its services.

The charity night raised £1,500 and the event was organised by Nik Coppin (Art Of Comedy), Morgwyn’s Marvellous Media and Paul Margo (pictured right) of 3Degree Catering at the EBM Centre, Peacehaven.

Brighton comedians Dave Fensome, Stephen Grant, Elaine Fellows, Pat Smith and Laura Lexx kept a full house roaring with laughter all evening at the event in February in Peacehaven.

Charity night to support Lewes Parkinson’s Support Group

The group representative, Judy Byrne, said: “Our group runs an exercise class every week with a physiotherapist who specialises in Parkinson’s.

“We also run a singing class for the practice of voice production and three or four times a year we organise a social event.

“We are so very grateful for this wonderful contribution. Coincidentally, our shortfall this year would have been £1,500, so now we can be sure our activities for 2024 will all take place.”

The next event is in aid of Havens Food Cooperative on Monday, May 20, and tickets can be purchased at https://bit.ly/HavensFoodCoop
