Councillors to decide on two major housing developments

The fate of more than 600 new homes in Hailsham is up for discussion this morning as Wealden Planners meet.

Plans to build up to 400 houses on land on Cuckoo Fields and Ersham Road including affordable housing is recommended to be approved, as well as an additional 220 homes with a convenience store for Mill Road are also being discussed at the meeting at Wealden offices.

There are a number of conditions relating to each planning application such as the redevelopment of the South Road and Diplocks Way roundabout to accommodate extra traffic movements.
