Man charged after 11 year-old boy dies in crash

Police have charged a man from Eastbourne with causing death by dangerous driving after an 11 year-old Hastings boy died in the horror crash in Hooe.

The incident happened on the B2095 on December 15, where a car and a flatbed van collided fatally injuring Harry Dennis who was airlifted to hospital from the scene.

Harry died as a result of his injuries on Saturday, December 17.

Following an investigation by the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, Russell Le Beau, 34, of the Devonshire area of Eastbourne, was charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

He has been bailed to appear before Hastings Magistrates’ Court on April 5.
