More than 800 chocolate eggs have been delivered to care and nursing homes across Hailsham today ahead of the Easter weekend.
Ten homes received an egg for each resident and member of staff, courtesy of Maybugs and The Hailsham Eye Magazine, in the hope of bringing some extra joy this Easter.
Staff members gratefully received the gifts today on behalf of residents, which were delivered in good time for the boxes to be sanitised in preparation to give out to their recipients this weekend.
Greg Rose joint owner of Maybugs said ‘Despite the difficult time the High Street has experienced recently, it is our absolute pleasure to help spread some joy this Easter weekend, especially when it’s to those who have been the most removed from society. If it brings just a moment of joy to them then it will be worth every penny.’
Paul Gibson from The Hailsham Eye Magazine commented: “It’s been a fair challenge to organise 800 eggs in the last week, but carers have had a far greater challenge throughout lockdown and deserve some recognition, so we hope our small offering will go some way to doing that. Also, it has been just as tough for those living in care, so we really hoping to bring some joy to them too.”
