FIRE appliances from Eastbourne and Herstmonceux attended a fire this evening just metres from Hailsham Fire Station.
They were called around 19:30 to a ‘domestic fire’ in George Street, but it couldn’t be located when the crews arrived on scene.
It was soon located in the grounds of Sturton Place where crews had to cut the fencing to get access. It is believed to be under control.
Crews from Hailsham did not attend the incident.
