FIRE Crews from across the county are tackling a large fire at Golden Cross, near Hailsham, which has closed the main A22.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called at 2.24pm this afternoon (2 December) to an industrial building fire in Chiddingly.
Eight fire engines have been sent to the scene and crews are using three main jets and firefighting foam to tackle the fire at the Marquis motorhome showroom.
Members of the public are asked to avoid the area and local residents to keep windows and doors closed.
Sussex Police have put road closures in place on the A22 and in surrounding roads including Charlington Way, Coldharbour Road, Camberlot Road, Nash Street, and Burgh Hill Road. These will remain in place while the fire service deals with the fire.
