Residents in Hailsham are being urged to spare some food items for packages being compiled to support local NHS staff.
It has become increasingly difficult for front line emergency staff to get food and groceries after panic buying has cleared supermarket shelves, so Hailsham Cricket Club is now filling emergency packages which will be delivered to local NHS staff, so they can eat between shifts.
Dried goods, tinned food and anything non-perishable can be donated for the packages at the Hailsham Cricket Pavilion, Western Road Recreation Ground, 9 till 10am and 5 till 6pm. Staff with ID will be able to apply for a ‘Care Package’.
The free service is being run by Lewis, Harry and Rob from Hailsham Cricket Club to ensure our NHS staff are looked after.
They told Hailsham News; “This service is free, although we do accept any donations to ensure continuation of the project. Any financial or food donations surplus to requirements will go straight to Hailsham Food Bank.”
This is a fantastic opportunity for the Hailsham community to give something back to the amazing NHS staff who are working extremely hard during these unprecedented times.
