RESIDENTS turned out in force to support the town’s first Summer late night shopping event on Thursday (3 August).
Organised by the town’s Chamber of Commerce, the event was created to encourage more footfall for the High Street businesses – and it did just that.
There was dancing, singing, drumming and entertainment throughout the town centre and almost forty shops and businesses kept their doors open to customers until 9pm.
Shops in Malling, Cliffe High Street, The Precinct, Eastgate Hill, School Hill, Upper High Street, Needlemakers, Station and Fisher Street all took part in the event some with special offers just for the event.
The streets were filled with entertainment with line dancing, singing from Rock Choir, and even a pianist outside The Brewers Arms.
It’s hoped the event will continue into next year alongside the regular December late night shopping event.
