After four years of publishing news online, the Hailsham News team has published the town’s first monthly free community newspaper.
This exciting development is being launched today (1st October) with some residents receiving it through their letterboxes during the day, but the official launch will take place in Hailsham Town centre tomorrow (Saturday 2nd October). 7,000 copies will be available on a monthly basis.
Residents can pick up the free 32-page newspaper full of news, features, information along with motoring, property and sports news from the Hailsham News gazebo from 10am at the Hailsham Street Market in Vicarage Field.
Copies can also be picked up from Tesco in North Street, Waitrose in Vicarage Field, Maybugs, Freedom Leisure and Knockhatch Adventure Park.
The newspaper will be published at the beginning of every month and is printed by a national company ensuring newspapers are published within 24 hours of the news team approving the pages.
In 2017, Hailsham News created a dedicated website to publish local stories and information, and in 2020 reported more than 430,000 page impressions.
Editor, Paul Gibson, commented: “We cannot be more excited to launch the newspaper and looking forward to giving Hailsham the voice it deserves in the media. The team has worked really hard to get the first issue together and our street distributors will also be pounding the pavements to make sure as many residents as possible see the newspaper.”

The newspaper is published by Eye Media Group Ltd which also produces the bi-monthly community magazine, The Hailsham Eye.
