Hailsham Harriers in tricky Framfield race

Date:

It was a misty start to the muddy, two lap, undulating course in Framfield near Blackboys last month, but that did not deter another large turnout for the third race in the East Sussex Sunday Cross Country League and the final fixture for 2021.

Hosted by the Uckfield runners, 317 runners took part in the Senior’s race including ten Hailsham Harriers.

First home for the Harriers saw mens captain Martin Bell finish strong in 35:09 (43rd) followed by Alissa Ellis, fourth female across the line in 35:45 (56th).  The Harriers delivered strong performances all round with club Chairman Andy Ruffell 38:30 (97th), Helen O’Sullivan 38:42 (101st), Graham Purdye 39:54 (118th), Gary Smith 41:30 (147th), Jenny Katsoni 41:33 (148th), Hannah Deubert-Chapman 46:19 (215th), Julie Chicken 47:20(223rd) and Sam Neame 50:01 (243rd).

The next fixture will take place at Warren Hill, Eastbourne on Sunday January 16th 2022 and this event will be hosted by Hailsham Harriers.
