Hailsham LIVE goes virtual to celebrate VE Day

Although the community cannot get together to celebrate Hailsham LIVE on VE Day, organisers have announced they will be officially marking the landmark event online in a series of specially made films.

To mark the 75th Anniversary of this landmark event on 8th May, the films will be honouring everyone who fought for our country in World War 2 and remembers the soldiers who didn’t come home.

The films will feature the National commemorations for VE Day such as the Last Post, Battles Over and The Cry for Peace. There will also be an address by the Town’s Mayor Paul Holbrook along with some exclusive moments from performers and special guests.

Residents will be urged to donate during thhe broadcasts to help support local veterans. They can donate using this link: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/hailsham-news.

People in Hailsham can watch the exclusive films on Friday May 8th on the Hailsham News and Talk Facebook Group for the which start on Friday 8th May at Midday, 3pm and 7pm.

Each film will be around 30 minutes each and a full schedule will be published before Friday 8th May.
