PAPA John’s, the pizza franchise is to close 43 stores across the country, with the newly-opened Hailsham branch becoming one of the victims.
The shop, located next to Tesco on North Street, opened for business in the town in December 2022 and employed 14 members of staff.
It’s part of a local franchise which also has stores in Eastbourne and Bexhill, both of which will close as part of the plans.
The company says it is closing ‘underperforming’ stores which include six across East Sussex.
The affected shops are expected to close by mid May.
