Hailsham will be holding its annual Remembrance Service this Sunday (10th November) to remember those who died serving their country.
The parade will be leaving at 10:35am from the Waitrose Car Park in Vicarage Road and the memorial service will commence at 10:45am in the High Street.
Wealden’s Chairman, Councillor Pam Doodes, will be attending the morning ceremony and laying a wreath at Hailsham War Memorial.
“Remembrance Sunday allows us time to pause and pay our respects to all those who have lost their lives in two world wars and the many conflicts that have taken place around the world since,” said Councillor Doodes.
“They made the ultimate sacrifice so that we can enjoy the freedom we have today. We have a duty to ensure that they are never forgotten.”
The Union Flag will be flown at Wealden District Council’s offices in Hailsham over the weekend and on Remembrance Day, Monday November 11th. There will be two minutes silence at 11am for staff to pay their respects.
