RESIDENTS in Alfriston, Berwick, Ripe and Wilmington have been without water today whilst low-lying villages suffer extreme flooding.
Around 700 homes have been without supplies and bottled water stations have been set up for those without tap water. South East says it’s working hard to resolve the outage.
Heavy rain has fallen over the last few days meaning some small villages in the area have been cut off. Volunteers have been helping to deliver bottled water to vulnerable people.
Affected residents can collect water from The Singing Kettle, Waterloo Square in Alfriston and Arlington Reservoir in Berwick.
MP for Lewes, Maria Caulfield MP said: “I would like to thank South East Water for their swift action and communication with my office this morning, I am continuing to monitor the situation to ensure that residents are being supported and seeking a full restoration of service as soon as possible.”
Customers on South East Water’s Priority Services Register have had water delivered to their door, but anyone who has not, and believed they should be on this list, should call 0333 000 1122.
