A 22 year-old man has been arrested after a fight broke out at a popular members bar in Hailsham.
Police were called at midnight on Thursday (December 12) to reports of a large fight on Western Road, Hailsham.
A 57-year-old man was found with head injuries outside the Hailsham Memorial Institute Club. He remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition. Another man, aged 33, sustained a facial injury inside the club.
A man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and assault causing actual bodily harm.
He has been released on conditional bail.
