Man convicted of nearly 50 offences across Crawley

A prolific shoplifter has been convicted of 49 offences following thefts in Crawley.

Damien O’Hare, 48, of no fixed address admitted to 26 counts of shoplifting, 22 counts of breaching a Criminal Order Behaviour and one count of public order.

It was heard he stole a total of £2129.12 worth of stock such as food and household items from shops across Crawley between March 3 and June 9.

The stores he impacted were Co-op, Poundland, Boots, Superdrug, Tesco and Marks and Spencer.

O’Hare was arrested on June 9.

He appeared before Crawley Magistrates’ Court on June 10 and pleaded guilty to all charges and has been remanded in custody.

O’Hare is due to appear before Lewes Crown Court on July 8 for sentencing.
