Mayor thanks Hailsham Live team after successful first event

Date:

Mayor Paul Holbrook has publicly praised the organisers of Hailsham Live at a recent full Town Council meeting.

Hailsham Live took place for the first time last weekend (July 10th) and welcomed around 1,500 visitors to the Vicarage Lane Car Park for 10 hours of live staged entertainment.

Alongside the stage live acts, the High Street area came alive with drummers, entertainers, music and charity events.  Despite the rain, residents supported the festivities and enjoyed a well deserved day out.

At the council meeting last week, Councillor Paul Holbrook said: “I’d like to thank the Hailsham Live team for putting on such a successful event for the town. It was great to so many people out enjoying themselves at last. It was very well organised and the entertainment was fantastic.”

Whilst visiting Hailsham Live, Mayor Holbrook also received a defibrillator from Haulaway, which is donating the unit to the town as part of its recent 30th anniversary celebrations.  Lisa Kemp from Haulaway (pictured above) took to the stage to handover the unit which will be placed in a prominent position somewhere in Hailsham.

Paul Gibson from Hailsham Live commented: “We were so happy to eventually host this event for the town and see so many happy faces. There are far too many people to thank for their support for the event since its inception in 2019, but Hailsham Town Council has been prominent in the success of Hailsham Live since day one.”
