When Danielle was given a five per cent chance of surviving after being born at 26 weeks, she was a fighter from day one.
This fight continues to this day as 27-year-old Danielle Evans is not only the reigning Miss Brighton, but spends most of her time trying to break the stereotypes of women in sport and works with people all across the world on the issue.
Danielle isn’t a stranger to sport herself as she competes in local rugby and has recently gloved up and took to the boxing ring. Later this year, she will be representing the city in the Miss Great Britain finals.
She told East Sussex News: “I have sadly suffered from long term lung issues due to the complications when I was born. However, I’ve not let that stop me. I’ve worked with numerous charities and organisations over the years, particularly those that help establish diversity and inclusion. I hope to continue this as Miss Brighton 2022.”
Danielle added: “A couple of years ago, I launched the #TryMe campaign which aimed to break the stereotypes of women in sport. To date, I’ve had the honour of talking and working with people all across the world about this. With the recent women’s Six Nations, I feel it is so important to continue that message.”
