Emergency Services were called to a serious collision on the A22 this afternoon which closed the road for several hours.
A motorcycle and a car collided at the busy Golden Cross junction and the Air Ambulance attended to airlift the motorcyclist to hospital.
Police closed the road to carry out investigations and a partial closure is reported to still be in place.
There was severe congestion in the area during the incident.
Any witnesses to the crash are being asked to contact Sussex Police.
