A popular night-time event for children living with life-limiting conditions and disabilities is making a return to Drusillas Park.
Almost 30 charities in Sussex will be taking part in Dreamnight.
Children from Amaze and Drusillas charity of the year have been invited to visit the park for a magical evening of fun on 1st of June. They will meet much-loved children’s character, Bing, donated by Acamar Films.
Other activities include DJ David Ockenden, circus displays and workshops from Sweet circus, mini sports arena with accessible sports equipment and face painting.
Drusillas Managing Director, Cassie Poland says: “We’re so excited to be resurrecting Dreamnight. It’s such a wonderful night which our staff really love. This evening has been so special in previous years that even past staff are coming back to help us in 2023!
“It means so much to us to make our Park as accessible to all as possible. We understand that for some families a visit during our usual operating hours is impossible. So, to be able to welcome these children and their families to a dedicated night, put together just for them, is very important to us.
“We can’t wait to welcome all our VIP guests to make some memories, meet our animals nose to nose, and enjoy our rides and play areas. It really should be a night to remember, full of fun, laughter, and all the best that Drusillas has to offer.”
Guests will also meet and learn about 80 species of animals. There will be rides, play areas and an opportunity to win prizes at the toy giveaway stand. The prizes are donated by Puckator, Keel Toys, The Gift Scholars, Keycraft UK, and Millars Ark Toys.
Dreamnight was developed by a zookeeper from Rotterdam Zoo in 1966, with the aspiration to make zoos more accessible for children who need special support. Since then, it has become a worldwide and successful event. Drusillas’ last Dreamnight was in 2016.
