CROWBOROUGH is set to get a dedicated hyperlocal newspaper this summer, with the launch of Crowborough News – a brand-new, free, hyperlocal print publication hitting the streets in August 2025.
The monthly free newspaper will cover everything from the latest news and sport to features, council updates and what’s happening on the high street. With a firm focus on community, Crowborough News aims to inform, celebrate, and connect local residents by shining a spotlight on the people, places and events that matter most to the town.
The launch follows the success of sister titles Hailsham News, Eastbourne News, and Bexhill News – all part of a growing network of independent local newspapers returning truly local journalism to Sussex towns.
Editor Iain Luxford, who has lived in Crowborough for more than 20 years, will lead the new paper. A familiar face in the community, Iain is a former member of the Crowborough Foodbank management team and has raised his family in the town. He said the paper would be “written by local people, for local people.”
He added: “We’re here to give Crowborough a strong, independent voice in print. We want to share your stories, your successes, and your views and build something the whole community can be proud of.”
Around 10,000 copies will be printed and distributed across the town each month, available to pick up free from Tesco, Waitrose and Morrisons, cafés, shops, GP surgeries, salons and community hubs.
As well as a platform for readers, Crowborough News offers valuable visibility for local businesses. Advertising opportunities are now open, giving traders a chance to reach thousands of local readers in a trusted print environment.
