Staff and Pupils at a Hailsham Primary School are celebrating after being recognised as having some of the best results in the country.
A letter sent to Phoenix academy in Marshfoot Lane from the Department of Education, stated the progress made by pupils between Key Stage 1 and the end of Key Stage 2 in English reading, writing and maths made the school amongst the top 3% in England.
Secretary of State for Education, Rt Hon Damian Hinds commented in the letter; “We want to equip every child with the fluency in reading, writing and mathematics necessary to prepare them for a successful secondary education and beyond, and your school has provided this.”
