THE stars of the Snow White Panto took to the stage in Eastbourne Town Centre to officially launch the festive period yesterday (30 November).
Thousands of shoppers turned up to witness the switching on of the official Christmas lights which stretch from Terminus Road to Little Chelsea.
The afternoon offered live music from Eastbourne Silver Band, The Abba Girls, Sam Hughes, singing the songs of Elton John and The Streetlights, which was followed by a stunning laser show reflecting festive images and patterns on the surrounding buildings at Bankers Corner.
After, there was live singing from Eastbourne’s Summer Murphy who officially switched on the lights, after a lively countdown from Dame Dolly (Martyn Knight) and Herbie the Huntsman (Tucker), stars of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which is on at the Devonshire Park Theatre from Friday, 6 December until Sunday 12th January.
The event was organised by the Eastbourne BID (Business Improvement District).
