Polegate residents spend day without water mains

Date:

SOUTH East Water says it is working hard to restore water supplies to a large number of customers in Polegate following a water mains burst today (Sunday).

Workers have been digging to reach the pipe located on Dittons Road today, and South East Water is hoping supplies will be flowing again this evening.

A spokesperson said: “We’re really sorry to those of you who are experiencing low water pressure or no water at the moment.

Our repairs team is currently on site at the burst main which is causing supply issues in this area. As soon as the repairs have been completed, your water will return to normal.

We can’t say just yet how long this will take but please rest assured we’re doing everything we can to get you back up and running as soon as possible.”

An update at 20:36 suggested the water supply had been reconnected.
