Polegrove Bowls Club advancing in county and national competitions

POLEGROVE Bowls Club players continue to progress in County and National competitions.

The mixed over-60 double rink team play Lindfield in the area semi-final after good wins against, Bexhill, Gildredge Park and Eastbourne.

The ladies’ National top club team beat Gildredge Park and play Burgess Hill in the area final.

And in the County top club competition, a win over Felbridge secured a game against Gildredge Park in the next round.

Julian Wood reached the area final in the County singles competition and put up a good fight against Michael Stone, losing 21-18.

The ladies will be well represented at County semi-finals day on July 13-14.

Rachel Mackriell, Nina Allbut and Denise Hodd will defend their triples title and Lyndsey Jamison will join them in the fours.

Margaret Adcock joins them in the senior fours. Mackriell is also a semi semi-finalist in the two-woods competition and Hodd, along with Rosamund Wood, have reached the pairs semi-final.

All winners will go on to represent Sussex at Leamington at the National finals in August
