The Rother division of Sussex Police is stepping up efforts to combat antisocial behaviour by a group of unruly youths in Bexhill.
Patrols in the town will be increased, the force has confirmed.
It follows reports by concerned residents of unruly behaviour by the group, with Police determined to nip the problem in the bud by taking whatever action is deemed necessary.
The group of youths have reportedly been drinking alcohol and allegedly taking drugs in and around St Peters Church in the town.
As a result, patrols by the police have already been stepped up.
It has also been alleged that the unruly group are causing damage to the church and have been abusive towards local residents who asked them to leave.
In a statement, the force said: “We will continue with high visibility patrols and we will deal with any perpetrators robustly.
“If you see or hear anything suspicious or out of place, then please call us at the time on 101. If an emergency or crime is in progress, call 999.
