
Southern Water is consulting with residents in Hailsham amid plans to upgrade its wastewater treatment works.
In a letter sent to homeowners in Hailsham, Southern Water announced an event to allow residents to meet the project team and find out about the works which are planned for the Hailsham North location.
The Improvement works are to ensure Southern Water meets its environmental obligations, safeguard the habitat of the Pevensey Levels where treated water is discharged and also provide the additional treatment capacity to allow for the predicted growth in the area,
Before the plans are submitted to East Sussex County Council, residents can have their say at the event at Hailsham Civic Community Hall in Vicarage Lane on Wednesday 6th February between 4pm and 7pm.
Subject to planning approval, the work will being later this year and is aimed to be completed by mid 2021.
