Residents warned to avoid swimming following another sewage spill

Bexhill bathing water may have been affected by yet anther sewage leak, Southern Water has confirmed.

The leak took place on Friday, February 3 at Bulverhythe, St Leonards.

Southern Water spent most of the day working on repairs. Due to the leak, bathing water at Bexhill could well be impacted, Rother District Council is advising against bathing in the sea until further tests are carried out.

A mains pipe had burst earlier in the day in Bulverhythe Road, causing several homes to be flooded in the surrounding area.

A pavement also reportedly collapsed in the affected area.
