Hailsham Parish Church has this evening (Sunday) held a special service to remember the life of His Royal Highness, The Duke of Edinburgh.
The socially-distanced ceremony was attended by 30 specially invited guests, including Chairman of Wealden District Council, Pam Doodes, Hailsham Mayor Paul Holbrook, representatives from Royal British Legion, Sussex Police and a number of Town Councillors.
Reverend David Bourne held the service whilst Associate Vicar, Rory Graham held prayers and spoke about Prince Philip’s life and how he will be remembered.
Paul Gibson, from Hailsham News, said: “I was honoured to be invited along to this special service which was a good opportunity to quietly reflect on the work of The Duke of Edinburgh and honour his dedication to our Nation.”
The National Anthem ended the ceremony which was also streamed live via YouTube. Click here to see the Church’s channel.
