Officers have been stepping up checks on motorist as part of the forces Operation Dragonfly campaign.
Between December and January, will have officers dedicated to preventing and detecting incidents of drink and drug-driving throughout the county.
A motorist was pulled over at a checkpoint in Lewes this week and failed a roadside drug test. In addition, their car also seized for holding no insurance. The driver was arrested at the scene.
The consequences of drink or drug-driving could include a minimum 12 month ban, possible prison sentence, a criminal record, or killing or seriously injuring others.
