Teenager arrested on suspicion of arson following school fire

A 16-YEAR-OLD girl has been arrested on suspicion of arson following a school fire.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to Blatchington Mill School, in Nevill Road, Hove, on January 17 at 5.42pm.

At its height, six fire engines were at the scene, as well as officers and other agencies.

A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: “A 16-year-old girl has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life has been detained under the Mental Health Act while the investigation continues.”

There were no reports of injury.
