Tennis star serves up trophy in Eastbourne window display contest

Date:

CZECH tennis star Marie Bouzková took a break from the courts this week to help celebrate Eastbourne’s creative community by presenting the top prize in the town’s annual Tennis Window Display Competition.

The overall winner was Age Concern Eastbourne, whose eye-catching tennis-themed display impressed judges and visitors. Store manager Sonia was awarded a trophy, certificate, and a pair of tickets to the Eastbourne International Tennis tournament which were presented by Bouzková and LTA Tournament Director Rebecca James.

The competition, organised by Eastbourne BID, saw shops across the town dress their windows in tennis-inspired themes to mark the arrival of the prestigious event.

Highly commended entries came from Taylor Engley and Lighthouse Gallery on Cornfield Terrace and Samaritans on Grove Road.

Eastbourne BID CEO Stephen Holt praised the efforts of local businesses: “It’s great to see the town coming together once again for this prestigious tournament. I can’t wait for Eastbourne to welcome thousands of visitors to our beautiful town.”
