Thousands raised from Rotary Santa visits in Hailsham

Date:

More than 4000 chocolate bars were given out over the Christmas period to children visiting Hailsham Rotary’s Santa Sleigh, according to the charity.

More importantly, £8,500 was raised over the 20 days of visiting roads in Hailsham in December, all of which will be given to local causes.

Hailsham Rotary has been operating the sleigh for fifteen years, and has now raised in excess of £90,000.

Recently, the Rotary donated £900 to fund a purpose built car seat for a disabled youngster and well as presenting cheques to a variety of other organisations.

Eastbourne AM RC, Hellingly PTA, Herstmonceux Cricket Club and Grovelands FROGS are just some of the groups all benefiting from the Christmas collections.
