Three people taken to hospital following Battle Road crash

Two cars collided on Battle Road, Hailsham on Sunday causing extensive damage to both vehicles and seriously injuring three people.

The drivers, a man aged 38 from Hailsham and a woman aged 74 from Heathfield, together with a man aged 81 who was a passenger in the car driven by the woman, were taken to Conquest Hospital in Hastings with what were all described as serious but not life life-threatening injuries.

It happened shortly after 2:30pm on Sunday (31st May) close to the junction of Hawthylands Road. Police say a driver of a Ford failed a roadside breath test, but was not arrested at the scene.
