Volunteers behind Hailsham FM are celebrating today as they receive permissions from OFCOM to continue broadcasting for the next five years.
Based in the centre of Hailsham, the radio station has to reapply for a licence every five years, and commit to a strict code of practice with OFCOM, the regulator for TV and Radio.
The station got its first FM licence in 2018, when it became Hailsham FM Ltd., and moved from the Old Courthouse building where it broadcast for many years previous to getting approvals from OFCOM.
Director, Wayne Spicer said: “We would like to thank all of our volunteers and presenters for their dedication and hard work, our local supporters, friends, sponsors, advertisers, and of course our listeners, who have all supported the Station over the last 5 years. All helping the Station grow from strength to strength. It’s thanks to this ongoing support that OFCOM have confidently awarded our extension.”
