EMERGENCY services responded to reports of an unexploded bomb after it was discovered in Ashdown House.
Sussex Police responded to the incident in Sedlescombe Road North, St Leonards, at approximately 9.30am this morning (May 9).
Nearby homes and businesses were evacuated, and a cordon was put in place as a precaution.
Specialists from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team were called to safely remove the ordnance.
At about 2.30pm this afternoon Hastings Police posted on its Facebook page: “We can confirm the ordnance has been safely detonated at Ashdown House, Sedlescombe Road North, St Leonards.
